![]() So I am reasonably sure that after following Steve for almost 2 years, and fully understanding what he is doing, my decision to re-flash this ECU will be like 95% of my previous decisions through life. I have been doing this all my life, some people watch me and question my sanity, you're putting a 1000 VDC on that $3000 SCR:surprise:, yes and I have taken a new Omron panel display meter and done the same, better that than have a over $200,000 inverter panel run away and do severe damage and possibly kill someone. Research + Reasearch=Make a Decision / Never waver >Īnd to add a little more humor, the shipping costs vary, she tells me one that includes coverage to $100, I say we need wayyyy more than that, that really got her attention She then gave me that look like are you really sure you want to do this******well I can really say this is like the second time in my life where I paid insurance for what it is really worth, as I have never had to file a claim with Canada Post, over 200 Ebay transactions. ![]() So I used the Harley explanation, told her without that my motorcycle won't run, ahh that explains it. I am guessing no, so I played it safe and checked A, so while I am talking to the sweet Canada Post lady, she asks me what could be worth so much that weighs so little, I said ECU,( she is typing this into the computer) she got the EC part and asked again EC what, I said ECU, electronic control unit, she asked, what is that. Well the second box :grin2:> B, just one word Abandon, so I am thinking if they lose it and I checked Abandon, and insured it for say $1,000,000, would they pay me? If you take the conversion on the Dollar, the customs cost & Tax and shipping, well it works out to be double what my dealer wants in Delhi, so a call to him was a relief.Ī couple things started out badly today ,(Yes My ECU is in the hands of Canada Post) so my thought was, what if the rotating strikes with Canada Post, my ECU goes to Timbuktu, by mistake, there are two non -delivery check boxes, the first one A says, return at Sender's expense. Thanks, great info ….I thought I should see how much our ECU costs #21175-0937, well my first mistake was checking prices in the USA, luckily I was sitting down, Bike Bandit & Partzilla, well if I had to replace it from the USA, I would just buy another bike. The one important question I failed to ask is whether or not this flash procedure voids your warranty. ![]() And there is a youtube video on what flashing does for the Can Am 4 wheelers. They have a website which you can search for if you are interested. I cannot verify if what they do is excellent work. For Stage 2, you'll need to send the eprom and air box cover. As an alternative, you can send them the eprom which they will flash and return to you for Stage 1. It takes 5 or 6 hours but that's because they have to remove tupperware and modify the air cleaner box cover which covers your air filter, I expect to allow more air to the engine so it can now produce 10 more HP. Stage 2 requires more work and costs $600. Somewhere on this forum there is a discussion of what is done. They said that it takes a couple of hours for Stage 1 and cost, after all is said and done, $500. I rode to Wick-It in Shreveport, LA today to discuss the ECU flashing.
